Finishpedia: magnetic

Hi everyone!

Today’s instalment of finishpedia is about magnetic polishes. Believe it or not, I own a dozen magnetic but I had never used them before. Or well, I bought and used them as stamping polishes, but I never used them with their own magnet to get the effect they were born for. I have used about 5 of them in the past few weeks to have more examples to show you but I completely failed. I had no luck whatsoever with the Kiko’s and Essence’s I own. The particles didn’t move. At all. I am not sure if this stuff is supposed to expire after a while, like thermals do! Fortunately I had this new purchase that worked!

This is Debby Magnetic n. 13 Cancer and I loved the magnetic effect on my nails!! Woot, why have I waited this long?

Oh, and by the way, magnetic polishes have metallic particles inside their formula that are drawn to a magnet if you put it quite close to your nails while they are still wet. These particles move to create different shapes depending on your magnet.

Oggi per la finishpedia parliamo di smalti magnetici. Che ci crediate o no, ne posseggo una dozzina, ma non li ho mai usati allo scopo per cui sono nati. Li ho comprati e sempre usati solo come smalti da stamping. In queste ultime settimane ne ho messi 4 o 5 per preparare il post di oggi e darvi come al solito diversi esempi. Peccato che non abbia avuto nessuna fortuna coi Kiko e con gli Essence! Le particelle non si sono mosse di mezzo millimetro! Non so se l’effetto magnetico sia destinato a scadere tipo gli smalti termici. Per fortuna avevo questo nuovissimo smaltino Debby che ha funzionato egregiamente.

Questo è Debby Magnetic n. 13 Cancer e ho adorato l’effetto sulle unghie! Ma cosa aspettavo fino ad ora???

Ah, per la cronaca, gli smalti magnetici contengono particelle metalliche che sono attratte da una calamita messa vicino alle unghie mentre lo smalto è ancora bagnato. Queste particelle vanno a formare diverse forme a seconda della calamita che si usa.

Man, did I love this effect! Too bad it faded after a few hours! I think it’s because I used a top coat? No idea! Now I loved this so bad that I am even more pissed off that the other ones didn’t work!!

What do you think about magnetic polishes? Love, hate or neutral?

Se notate il mio indice è diverso dalle altre unghie. Ho usato solo una passata di smalto lì, mentre sul resto sono due.

Mamma mia quanto mi è piaciuto questo effetto! Peccato che dopo qualche ora sia sparito. Sarà colpa del top coat? Non ne ho idea. E siccome questo effetto mi ha colpito così tanto mi è scocciato ancora di più che gli altri non abbiano funzionato.
