Hi everyone!
Today I am showing you one of the newest holographic shades by Born Pretty. Product code is 41675, and this one is in shade BPH04 Papakōlea Breeze, which is still available at the moment.
I own the entire first holo collection by Bornpretty, and a few shades from the second one. When the new colours were released I knew I wanted more. Unfortunately these new ones are worse than the previous ones. The colours are prettier though.
The new holo shades by Born Pretty need an aqua base for them to apply easily. Without an aqua base it's a nightmare. Each coat moves and drags what's underneath. That was acceptable a few years ago but right now? Formulas have changed and improved since then. Now you can't be forced to buy a special base coat to use a single polish. That's crazy. Plus the older Born Pretty holos were perfect and didn't need a special base. Why have the changed to worse? That's such a shame.
That said, I used Nfu-Oh Aqua Base that I bought ages ago for Layla holos I think. Using that one I had no issued applying this nail polish. But still, not acceptable in 2018.
BPH04 Papakōlea Breeze is a pine green, if you don't use a top coat. The shade on the nails is way different than the one in the bottle, which is a brown. Then if you add a top coat the colour changes to olive green. That's so weird that a top coat changes the shade underneath. I tried different top coats and it did the same with all of them. On the positive side you get two colours in one.
Photos: two coats, no top coat.
Last pic: you can see the difference.
What can I say? If you own an aqua base go ahead and purchase it. Otherwise just don't care about it.
