Finishpedia: crackle

Hi everyone!

It’s Friday and that means obviously cloudy weather! But it also means finishpedia, kk! Today we have crackle finish. Not hard to recognise, right? It’s that polish that goes on top on another one and creates a broken/crackled effect. Believe it or not, crackles are not a recent idea. I used to have one when I was in middle school, which means 25 years ago! Yeah, I am that old. Anyway, it was a blue crackle by Deborah Milano, which I alway paired to a bright pink undie. I loved the effect at the time. Plus it was really innovative back then. Now after 25 years I am just bored by the standard crackle. I must say though that there are special ones, too. For example crackles that open up to animal skins or bubble like.

Atm I only have two crackles in my stash. One is by Essence and I only have got it because I won it in a contest. The other one is the infamous OPI Spotted which was love at first sight for me.

E’ venerdì!! Il che ovviamente vuol dire che il cielo si rannuvola. Ambè! Ma significa anche finishpedia! Oggi parliamo di smalti crackle. Non hanno un gran bisogno di spiegazioni e non ci vuol molto a riconoscerli. Sono quegli smalti che vanno usati sopra ad altri, e che creano un effetto crepato. Che ci crediate o no, l’effetto crackle non è per niente una novità. Quando facevo le medie, la bellezza di 25 anni fa (mamma mia quanto son vecchia), avevo un Deborah crackle blu, che abbinavo sempre a una base fucsia bella potente. Adoravo la combo, e al tempo era davvero un’innovazione! Adesso dopo 25 mi fa solo sbadigliare. Però devo anche dire che adesso esistono crackle anche particolari, che si aprono a pelle di animale o a bolle, ad esempio.

Al momento ho solo 2 crackle nella mia collezione. Uno è di Essence, e ce l’ho solamente perchè l’ho vinto nel calendario di Natale. L’altro è l’OPI Spotted, di cui mi sono innamorata subito.
