Today we are talking about thermal polishes for finishpedia series. I love this finish, it has been love at first sight for me.

Thermals are polishes that change their colour based on temperature. They are usually lighter (warm state) on the part of the nail touching the skin, and darker (cold state) on the tips.

Colour change might be addictive, I warn you. You'll keep looking at your nails to check any small change, you will find yourselves with your hand under your armpit, you'll wash your hands alternating cold and hot water. And nobody will understand what the heck you are doing, but you perfectly know the reason.

And besides loving the changes you'll also wear a nail art without the hassle of actually spending time to create it.

Thermal polishes come in a variety of finishes, too: creme, shimmer, glassflecked and holographic.

Only big downside of thermals is that the effect fades. After a year more or less there will be no more colour change, and you’re stuck with the colder version.

Oggi per la finishpedia parliamo di uno dei finish che adoro! Gli smalti termici.

Gli smalti termici sono stati una rivelazione per quanto mi riguarda, nel senso che ne sono rimasta colpita e affondata da subito.

Gli smalti termici cambiano colore con la temperatura, normalmente rimanendo più chiari (fase calda) sulla parte dell'unghia a contatto con la pelle, e più scuri (parte fredda) sulle punte.

Il cambio di colore può diventare una droga: continuerete a guardarvi le unghie per cercare ogni accenno di cambio, vi ritroverete con la mano sotto l'ascella, vi laverete le mani alternando acqua calda e fredda. Il tutto senza apparente motivo, ma voi il perchè lo sapete eccome.

E a parte deliziarvi di ogni minimo cambiamento di colore, la cosa è bella è che avete sulle unghie una nail art sempre pronta, senza aver effettivamente perso tempo a crearla.

Gli smalti termici esistono con tutti i tipi di finish di base: laccati, glassflecked, shimmer e olografici.

Ma c’è una pecca! Dopo circa un anno l’effetto termico svanisce e lo smalto rimane nello stato/colore freddo.
